It used to be that you lathered on the sunscreen, sunk into your chaise lounge (next to the pool) and waited until you'd worked up a sufficient sweat, before taking a dip. Well, either that, or you had to hop on a raft to stave off the heat.
Over the years, the name Van Kirk & Sons has become synonymous with building the world's finest pools and spas, but what many aren't familiar with are our world-class water feature and fountain capabilities.
Of late, we've been breaking down some of the behind-the-scenes images and footage of one of our favorite pools, our collaboration build with DIY Network and Mr. Rob Van Winkle, for their hit home improvement show, The Vanilla Ice Project.
In today's installment, we've got some images that'll allow you to have a gander at some never-before-seen photos of how this pool began to take shape.
"Take me out to the ballgame... Take me out to the pool. Buy me some Tater Tachos and Magnum Dogs, I don't care if I never get back!" And you know the rest... Or maybe not!
We're gonna be telling you a whole lot more about this pool in the weeks to come, but in the meantime, we wanted to give you a sneak peek at the new Van Kirk & Sons wading pool at The Clevelander At Marlins Park!
As you well know, Van Kirk & Sons worked closely with the DIY Network and Mr. Rob Van Winkle, a.k.a. pop culture icon Vanilla Ice to build one of the "coolest" pools anywhere!
Well, today we're proud to announce we've updated our Van Kirk & Sons Facebook page to reflect the new "Timeline" feature, and we invite you to come check it out!
If you haven't joined us on Facebook yet, now's the time as 2012 is going to be quite the year to stay connected to Van Kirk & Sons.
On June 21st 2011 we broke proudly ground on what is one of the most high-profile residential pool projects in Van Kirk & Sons history.
Last year, we were approached by the good folks at the DIY Network and asked to be part of their hit home improvement show, The Vanilla Ice Project, hosted by none other than pop-culture icon, Mr. Rob Van Winkle, a.k.a. Vanilla Ice, himself.
With the real estate market starting to show signs of life, homeowners are beginning to think of new ways to improve the "curb" appeal of their properties. But, what about the backyard appeal?
If your property has a pool and its never been updated-- we couldn't think of a better opportunity to give your backyard the flair it needs to make it the pièce de résistance!
Are you watching The Vanilla Ice Project on DIY Network? Well we are, and you should be too!
Here's a sneak peak of some of the behind the scenes photos we captured on the set of the Vanilla Ice Project. We'll be bringing you photos, video and stories of Van Kirk staff working along side Rob Van Winkle and co. to finish off this house with a pool as Cool as Ice.
